Grant Helps Organization With Isolated Community Members

Updated: Aug 7, 2019

The Windsor Essex Compassion Care Community will be able to help more people in the community thanks to a $750,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant.

The aim of the organization is to help people at risk of social isolation. They connect the elderly, disabled, and newcomers with caregivers to give support and social interactions.

“Within the span of their first year, the Windsor-Essex Compassion Care Community helped over 360 individuals experiencing isolation in our community,” said Percy Hatfield, MPP for Windsor-Tecumseh. “The $750,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation will allow the WECCC to continue their invaluable work of building a more compassionate and inclusive community.”

WECCC services and supports are now available to people in Windsor, and the seven municipalities in Essex County.
